Week 2 - De Bono Wiki Reflection

The De Bono, wiki activity has been scaffolded to support a range of varying perspectives. With the wiki being classified as the digital pedagogy, the redefinition, particularly transformative; forms close ties with both Bloom’s Taxonomy and the SAMR model. This particular digital pedagogy enables links directly to Bloom’s Taxonomy, by the substantial use of higher order thinking processes such as: analysing, evaluating and synthesising critical and relevant information. The SAMR model, also interlinks with both frameworks as one uses this structure to identify ways in which they are able to implement this particular higher order thinking scaffold into every day learning where their students are challenged. This can be done with the application and assistance of contemporary technologies into classes that enable students to participate within collaborative learning. These three models have allowed for a scaffolded structure to be formed where it permits for both students and teachers to participate in the necessary higher order thinking that ICT provides, although whilst keeping in mind that students may struggle to involve themselves in contemporary technologies.

Week 1 - Reflection

Good morning everyone,

Today, I had my first lecture for my E learning class. Throughout the duration of this class many important topics relating to digital pedagogies in the classroom were discussed. One specific topic covered was the importance of student differentiation, specifically ensuring that we as teachers cater for both gifted students and students with a disability. Under further discussion we determined that classroom management and ownership is essential for both teacher and student. I found this quite beneficial as multiple teaching tactics were discussed such as think, pair, share and numerous apps that could be used. I also learnt how to form a blog during this class which I believe is essential in today's teaching. Overall, I found today's class very useful.
